About Miimo
Miimo is a web service that lets you prepare a surprise gift to be discovered step by step: messages, photos, riddles, a final reveal, and optionally money to unlock by MTN MoMo or Orange Money. It is available in Cameroon, in French and English. The person receiving the gift needs neither an app nor an account.
How it works
- The creator signs in with their phone number and a code received by SMS or WhatsApp, then composes the journey: texts, photos, hints, questions, countdowns, places, a final message. They can start from one of 25 templates.
- They choose whether money unlocks at each step or at the end, pay by Mobile Money, then send the gift right away or on a scheduled date. The recipient receives a link on WhatsApp.
- The recipient opens the link, confirms their phone number with a code, then moves forward step by step. The money unlocked is paid to their Mobile Money.

Trust and security
- A gift only opens with the right phone number, confirmed by a code: a link forwarded to someone else is useless.
- Photos are private: only the person receiving the gift sees them, at the planned step.
- Payment goes through a Mobile Money payment provider; Miimo does not hold a wallet.
- Nothing is sent until the creator confirms, and a preview lets them see the gift as it will be discovered.
